Travis Newkumet's profile

Scholarship Program at the Permian Basin Landmen's Ass.

In addition to serving as managing member and CEO of Regions Energy, LLC, Travis Newkumet oversees Regions Permian, LLC, as co-founder and CEO. Alongside his day-to-day duties as a Texas-based energy executive, Travis Newkumet maintains membership in professional organizations such as the Permian Basin Landmen's Association (PBLA).

Open to professional landmen working in the energy and/or minerals industry, PBLA currently serves some 1,350 members in several states. In addition to providing networking and professional development programs for its members, the organization oversees various charitable initiatives, including a scholarship program for graduate and undergraduate students.

The PBLA scholarship program is focused on children of current PBLA members, but scholarship funding is also available to students outside of the PBLA community. To qualify, the latter must be enrolled full-time as a petroleum land-management or energy-management major at an accredited university. As long as they are enrolled in a college or university full-time, children of PBLA members may qualify for a scholarship regardless of major.

PBLA accepts applications throughout the year, but the official application period runs from January 1 to March 31. The organization's Scholarship Committee evaluates the applications and awards funding based on need, academic performance, extracurricular involvement, and other factors.
